Above is a girl who had a big time at PS 134 on East Broadway and Grand St., where they were preparing the soil for a garden during "Dirt Day." There's a good chance she has never played in the mud before. Where would she find mud on the Lower East Side?

This is a "screen shot" of the Grand Street News article. The Lower East Side magazine, which was published in both a print and online edition, ceased in 2011, and the publishers, Yori Yanover and Nancy Kramer, moved to Israel. I'm still taking picturess all over New York City.
