New York Faces

Prizes |
Here are some of my favorite portraits. A few of these people are well-known, even famous; most are not. Sometimes, as I sort pictures I have taken for The Chief (the newspaper that covers New York City workers), labor unions, city agencies, and Lower East Side 'zines, a portrait will stop me. Even in media events--press conferences, rallies, speeches, award ceremonies--people sometimes reveal a part of their nature, a look sincere or wily, wide-open or cynical, serious or humorous. |
Winner of two 2010 first-place Labor Media Awards from the International Labor Communications Association. The prize photo and profile appeared in the Clarion, the paper of the Professional Staff Congress. |
